ABOUT ANDREA
A fundamental truth about me: I believe in the power of people to change the world.
I also believe people are complex creatures who bring all of themselves to the work of changing the world - from the focused and inspired to the scattered and overwhelmed. With Amplify Good, Iām committed to working on behalf of the individuals and organizations changing the world - one complex, messy challenge at a time.
I have worked in nonprofit, academic, and public sectors, all focused on dismantling systems of oppression and building a new vision of what's possible for people and communities. As a person living with white, cisgender, and able-bodied privilege, it is my responsibility to get out of the way of leaders with lived experiences different than my own, and to amplify voices that have been silenced for too long.
I respect the unique identities each of us brings to our endeavors, and I understand the complexities of intersectional identities. I value honesty, transparency, integrity, humor, and life-long-learning.
I am a proud Michigander (Go Blue!) and a lover of the Great Lakes. I am also a mom to Fitzgerald and Francesca (the cutest pitbulls there ever were) and wife of Lindsey, thanks to Obergefell v. Hodges and the tireless efforts of LGBTQ activists. Our family likes to swim, camp, hike, bike, and relax in hammocks as often as possible.
If you want to swap dog pictures, co-conspire to topple racist institutions in the U.S., discuss where to camp in Michigan, or make a plan to change the world, let's talk:
